Kitty Katy is winning!
The bandages are off, and Katy can walk on both rear legs! The big wound is now very small and healing quickly. The orthopedist says the broken leg is completely healed.
She still purrs like she doesn't have an off button.
We still need your help with her vet bills, which total well over $2,000.

Kitty Katy's Vet Bills
The City of Houston pound sounded the alarm that Kitty Katy needed medical help that it could not provide. Katy had a badly infected dog bite wound.
Frisky Paws Rescue stepped up and rushed Kitty Katy to our private vet. Now, we are sounding the alarm because we need your contributions to help cover her vet bills.
Our vet quickly discovered that Kitty Katy not only had a very badly infected open wound at the top of her left rear leg, but her right leg was broken at a growth plate. She could not stand on her back legs.
This sweet, dilute tortie is only about 6 to 7 months old, so the growth plates at the end of her bones are still present and active.
Kitty Katy was rushed to an orthopedic surgeon the next day (Dec. 23) where she had surgery immediately to place wires in her broken leg. The open wound was also cleaned and partially closed under anesthesia.
Katy is recovering in a foster home where the foster helps Katy position herself so she can eat and drink. She is receiving antibiotics three times a day plus pain killers.
The surgeon believes that the broken leg has an excellent chance of healing and being functional, but she is still in danger of losing her left rear leg to infection.
So far, her vet bills total a little over $2,000 (primarily for the surgery).
