Bosley Bulletin #1
Bosley continues to get stronger and healthier! He is eating well and wants to play with other dogs at his foster home.
This little guy has upped his weight by over 10% since late April.
Bosley may need to take Rimadyl for his arthritis for the rest of his life, but so do lots of older dogs, which is why Rimadyl is a top selling drug.
Please chip in what you can to help Frisky Paws Rescue with Bosley's medical expenses. Donations are tax deductible if you itemize. Also, please pass along this plea to others.

Bosley's Story
Poor Bosley . . . no one even knew that this little BARC dog was a Schnauzer until his heavy suit of armor (matted fur) was shaved while sedated at the vet's. Frisky Paws Rescue pulled him from BARC because it was clear that he desperately needed medical attention.
Someone did not even care enough to feed him. With the fur gone, it was painfully evident just how malnourished he was.
Various tests, x-rays, ultrasound, etc. told us that his teeth desperately needed cleaning, a stone had formed in his bladder and needed to be removed surgically, discs in his spine have degenerated some from malnutrition combined with age, and he has a slight heart murmur.
The good news? He is heartworm negative. Guess that suit of armor did serve some useful purpose.
Frisky Paws Rescue quickly authorized the needed treatments. The stone was removed safely. When the vet cleaned his teeth this week, some of the teeth simply fell out, but his remaining teeth are now pearly white. The vet says that the heart murmur might improve now that his "toxic teeth" are gone. He is now eagerly eating food and is starting to gain weight, but you can still see his ribs. He does have a little muscle mass loss because of the severe malnutrition.
His vet bills (from a "rescue friendly" vet) have totaled $1,000+. A big thank you to Friends of BARC's Trey's Fund for an earlier donation. Frisky Paws will cover some of the expenses from current funds, but we also must raise money to help defray these expenses.
Frisky Paws helped Bosley. Can you help Frisky Paws by making a tax-deductible contribution?
Bosley is currently in a foster home with several other dogs. If you would like to consider fostering Bosley or adopting him, please e-mail Marvin at savebarcanimals@yahoo.com.
